Scripture Reading: Romans 1:13-16, Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8 The power that enables a Christian to witness comes from God and not from us.
The power of the gospel is not:
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:17-25 (NIV) 1. The Spirit-called, Spirit-gifted, spiritually mature minister is the leader within the Unshakable Kingdom and must lead!
2. The spiritually mature Christian has a Spirit-called, Spirit-gifted ministry within the Unshakable Kingdom and must perform it faithfully under the leadership!
SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:9-16 1. Personal strength comes through receiving grace daily for public ministry! Verses 9-10
2) Sanctify the people through his blood! 3) The difference! Jesus gave unholy people access to God in holiness and transformed the unclean place outside the camp into a place of righteousness for God’s people! Ephesian 2:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 1 Peter 3:14-18 3. Public ministry for Jesus means, simply loving Him enough to: verse 13-16
2) Pleasing Sacrifice: Doing good deeds, sharing SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:1-10 Christians are compelled by the love of Jesus to capably express the love of God in every relationship and circumstance within the Unshakable Kingdom.
1.You are brothers and sister, love like it! Verse 1
So What?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:14-17, 28 1. The Unshakable Kingdom of Jesus Christ prompts our worship: verse 28
3. The King of the Unshakable Kingdom demands priority in worship! Verse 29
2) God can accept all the worship you can give!
2) God is unyielding in His desire for you! 3) The fire of His jealous passion is unquenchable SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:18-28 God provides an Unshakable Kingdom for His children to enjoy!
By faith in Christ you have come to the Unshakable Kingdom of God! 1. Deliverance from the fear and isolation of sin! Verses 18-21
SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:5-13 1. You are God’s son/daughter through faith in Jesus. Hebrews 12:5-7; Romans 8:14-16
2. You are being trained by God for success. Verses 6-8
2) Produces are harvest of righteousness and peace. 3. You must choose to be receptive of God’s training. Verses 5, 11-13
4. You are prepared to obey your heavenly Father by your earthly Father. Verse 9-10
2) Nourish them to maturity 3) In the training and instruction of the Lord SO WHAT?

I will bear the indignation of the Lord, Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:30-40 Faith that receives the promise of God looks differently depending upon whose life it is in!
1. Faith wears many faces! Verses 30-32 A. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses! B. Joshua gets bypassed for the group! C. Rahab gets the headlines even as a prostitute! D. Male/female, individual/group, well known/obscure, major/minor, expert/novice E. Anyone can have faith, and most who have it are never noticed for it! F. If you are in it for the public affirmation, forget it! 2. Faith walks many paths! Verses 33-35a A. Wants the life that God gives: v. 33 “received what God had promised” NLT B. Wins Battles: > Conquered Kingdoms > Administered Justice > Shut the mouth of lions > Quenched the fury of flames > Escaped the sword > Weakness turned to strength > Powerful in battle, routing armies > Receiving healing C. Withstands Trials: v. 35, “placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection.” NLT > Tortured > Choose to Refuse Release > Faced jeers and flogging > Endured chains of imprisonment > Stoned to death, sawn in two, killed by the sword > Homeless wanderers: Verses 37-38 > The world was not worthy of them!!! 3. Faith seeks one object! Verses 39-40 A. Faith seeks Jesus! Faith doesn’t rest short of it’s goal in Christ! Hebrews 11:10 B. Faith makes it possible for us all to reach that same goal together in Christ! You can be faithful! C. Faith is not satisfied with something less than the best, it seeks something better! v. 40 D. By-product of faith is the fame of a good name: Proverbs 22:1 SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:23-29 Faith has courage to:
1. Defend the defenseless! verse 23 A. Acknowledge the sanctity of human life B. Every life is an extraordinary life in the hands of Jesus! 2. Deny the civil authority! verse 23
3. Declare your Identify as a part of the people of God! Verse 24 A. Own your faith! B. Own your people by standing with them!
4. Desire fellowship with God and his people over the pleasures of sin! Verse 25 A. Reject the identity of evil!
5. Develop the discerning eye of Christ: verse 26-27, 1 Corinthians 2:15-16 A. Disdains Egyptian Treasure: Hebrews 5:14 B. Drawn toward the promised reward C. Dominion of the unseen King not the visible one: Ephesians 6:12, 2 Kings 6:17 6. Delivered by the blood and through the water: verses 28-29 A. Blood of Christ B. Baptism of the Holy Spirit Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:20-22 1. Faith enables Christian parents to shape the future of their children through blessing! Verse 20
A. Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau B. Jacob blessed Joseph’s sons C. Joseph anticipated the Exodus and told his children D. Blessing & Instructing are the keys to the future shape of our children’s lives. 2. Faith empowers Christians to worship even when facing our own mortality! Verse 21 A. Worship based on God, not self B. Worship based on God puts a focus on others: Lives to bless other people C. While withering away: 1) No bad time to worship God, 2) don’t wait on the perfect time, now is the time 3. Faith instructs with the future in mind! Verse 22 A Near term instructions are of limited value! B. Long term instructions are life changing! C. Faith focuses on God’s plan for progress! 1) Our end is not God’s end or the end! 2) God has a plan! 3) God has the power! 4) God is moving everything in His direction for His glory! 4. Faith has final affairs in order! A. Take care of the big issues now! B. Teach them to your children! C. Turn your life toward what matters every day in every decision! Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:8-19 1. Faith obeys God even when some of the directions remain uncertain. Verse 8
SO WHAT?
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:1-6 “Faith is the first and greatest requirement for living as a Christian!”
1. Faith is the key to victorious and mature Christians living! Hebrews 10:32-39 A. Persevere in the will of God B. Remain Confident in the reward of God C. Resist shrinking back into destruction under the judgment of God D. Faith is the KEY: 10:38-39 2. What is “Faith”? Hebrews 1:1 A. Foundation for our Hope: Hebrews 6:17-20, 1 Corinthians 3:10-12 B. Vision of our Future: Legal proof, evidence of an accomplished things, deed, or event.
3. What does “faith” do? A. Knows God! Hebrews 11:3-6 B. Pleases God! Hebrews 11:2, 6 C. Gives for access to God’s gracious gift, eternal life! Hebrews 11:4-5 1) Makes us righteous before God! 2) Provides meaning in this life! 3) Grants eternal life with God! |
